Pallavi Kiragi

Multidisciplinary Designer. Artist.

As a human-centered practitioner, I am always looking to embrace transdisciplinary design values and actions through experimentation of processes and mediums. Familiarize with trends and assess their relevance to the user's definition and experience via perception and thought process. I am passionate about tangible interactions, spatial design, and data-driven outcomes. My other form of creative expression is music production, specifically sound design and synthesis applied to film scoring and electronic music.

Design Interactives

During my work experience at the museum, I actively engaged in the critical role of evaluating and refining exhibit spaces and interactive elements. I delved into the intricacies of designing diverse visitor experiences, considering factors such as mediums, spatial arrangements, and contextual relevance.

Objectives

My responsibilities included brainstorming innovative enhancements for existing interactives, aiming to improve functionality and adaptability. I conducted daily museum visits, closely observing visitor interactions with exhibit stations. Furthermore, I had the chance to experiment with new technologies, facilitating the integration of both old and new interactives into exhibit spaces, enriching the overall visitor experience with a seamless and immersive approach.

  • Observe and Point out flaws in spaces and interactives
  • Explore different modes of experiences - through mediums, space design, context
  • Ideate on present Interactives that can be improvised with enhanced functionality, flexibility, contextually
  • Daily visits to the museum to observe visitors and their interactions to the stations
  • Experiment technologies that could help old/new interactives fit in spaces, for visitors to experience full circle moment

Listening Stations

Each gallery has a listening station to preview music of the different styles of songs, videos, speeches. Colour coded to specific genres, each component was carefully looked at in terms, functionality, accessibility, usability and hierarchy. The main goal was to modernize the interaction seamless and eye level to the visitors accommodating to the galleries aesthetic context
